Peter Anthony Morisco, 88, of Elmwood Park, NJ passed away on Monday, May 25, 2009.Born and raised in Bronx, NY, he resided in Elmwood Park since 1954.Peter was a parishioner of St. Leo R.C. Church in Elmwood Park.
Prior to retiring in 1989, he was employed as a clerk with the United States Postal Service in Secaucus for thirty nine years.
Beloved husband of Lillian (Lorusso) Morisco.Loving and devoted father of Nicholas Morisco, Michael Morisco, Peter Morisco, Josephine Kempf and Rosemarie Morisco.Cherished grandfather of nine and great grandfather of twelve.
A funeral mass is planned for Thursday, May 28, 2009, 10 am at St. Leo R.C. Church, 324 Market Street, Elmwood Park, NJ.Interment will follow at CloverLeafPark in Woodbridge.The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.

I was very sorry to hear about Peter's passing. He flew with my father-in-law in the 'Bloody 100th' during WW II. I was in contact with him several times when I was writing a book about my father-in-law's experiences in WW II and the men he flew with. Peter was a true American hero and I extend my sympathies to his family and friends.
