William   Cirignano

William “Bill” J. Cirignano, 80, of Fair Lawn, NJ peacefully passed into the Lord’s hands at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.  Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, he was a proud Army veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant and serving his country during the Korean War.  Bill was a horse racing enthusiast and the proud owner of trotters.  He also enjoyed time spent in Atlantic City.  A dedicated and supportive father, he traveled and worked with his son’s band, Monroe, a local Jersey band and also assisted in his business, Screamin Ink Tattoo in Fair Lawn.

 

Prior to retiring in 1994, he owned and operated United Auto Painting in Fair Lawn for forty-five years.

 

Beloved husband of Lila (Baram) Cirignano.  Loving and devoted father of Debbie Cirignano and husband Paul Saraiva, Billy J. Cirignano and wife Jodi and Carol Barth and husband Mario.  Cherished grandfather of his one and only dearly loved grandson, Tyler Barth who fondly called him “Poppy”.  Dear brother-in-law of Sam and Normie Baram, Salma Snow, Najla Delmo and the late Mary Baram.  Bill is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service is planned for Monday, July 2, 2012, 10AM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.  The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 or Alzheimer’s Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
