Leonard   Riffle

Leonard E. Riffle, 87, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012.  Born and raised in Parkersburg, WV, he resided in Fair Lawn for forty-four years.  Having   proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, he was a member of V.F.W. Post 281 of Fair Lawn.  Mr. Riffle was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn.  An avid bowler, Leonard also enjoyed string art and Bingo.

 

Prior to retiring in 1986, he was employed as a Sargent of Guards with the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City for twenty-five years.  Previously, he retired from the U.S. Navy as a cook where he served for thirty years.

 

Beloved husband of Annie (Roddy) Riffle.  Loving and devoted father of Linda Molnar and husband Gerald.  Cherished grandfather of Ryan Molnar.  Dear brother of Eleanor Lane, Mary Roth and the late Billie McKinley.

 

A funeral mass is planned for Friday, June 22, 2012, 10:30 AM at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.  The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leonard may be made to St. Anne R.C. Church.
