Barbara B. (Armstrong) Lewis, 59, of Blairstown, NJ passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.  Born and raised in New York City, she resided in Bergenfield and Cresskill, NJ before moving to Blairstown twelve years ago.  Barbara had a passion for horseback riding and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

 

Ms. Lewis was employed as a property manager with Interga Management Corp in Mount Arlington for ten years.

 

Beloved daughter of Joyce (Whitney) and the late Reginold Armstrong.  Loving and devoted mother of Jennifer Bergquist and husband, Mats, Jessica Bettridge, Meredith Church and husband, Thomas and Carolyn Bettridge and fiancé, Lou Ricciardi.    Cherished grandmother of Ethan, Amanda, Lena, Evan, James, Nicholas, Ella, Sofia, Sadie, Sienna and Emma. Dear former spouse of Glen Bettridge.

 

A funeral mass is planned for Monday, March 1, 2010, 10:30 am at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ.  The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, February 28, 2010, 2 to 6 pm at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to Special Therapeutic Education in Equestrian Development (STEED), P.O. Box 582, Allendale, NJ 07401, 201-327-2284. 

3/3/2010 7:53:15 PM Susie Krause	I knew Bobbie from the barn where she rode.Her happy smile always cheered me up.she was a wonderful support to my daughter Lisa,who also rides,when Lisa had ups or downs:just like a mother! Your mother would be proud of the arrangements you girls had for her.They were heart warming and will be in our memory for a long time.I will miss Bobbie,she was such a joy to talk to and be around.my heart felt sympathies to all her family.

2/26/2010 4:24:33 PM Mari-Cris Rodriguez O'Neill	I was a high school classmate of Barbara's at the Notre Dame School in New York and remember so well her wedding to Glenn. We had seen each other thru the years at different Notre Dame reunions and I klnow how she loved her daughters and her many grandchildren. I am very saddened by this news.
